Medical Resources
  • American Thoracic Society The American Thoracic Society, founded in 1905, is an independently incorporated, international, educational and scientific society which focuses on respiratory and critical care medicine.
  • Coalition for Idiopathic Pulmonary Fibrosis The Coalition for Pulmonary Fibrosis (CPF) is a 501 (c) (3) nonprofit organization, founded in 2001 to further education, patient support and research efforts for pulmonary fibrosis, specifically idiopathic pulmonary fibrosis (IPF).
  • National Institutes of Health The National Institutes of Health is the steward of medical and behavioral research for the Nation. It is an Agency under the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services.
  • Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation The Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation is dedicated to finding a cure for and raising awareness of pulmonary fibrosis, an often fatal lung disease. The Foundation is devoted to improving the quality of life for those afflicted with this illness.

  • Breathin' Easy: A Guide For Travelers with Pulmonary Disabilities Information on more than 2,500 locations to refill your oxygen tanks, in more than 1,600 cities in all 50 states. Dependence on oxygen does not have to keep you at home. Many resources are available to help you "hit the road." This site summarizes most of what you will need to know about traveling with oxygen.
  • Accessible Journeys Since 1985, Accessible Journeys has been designing accessible holidays and escorting groups on accessible vacations exclusively for slow walkers, wheelchair travelers, their families, and friends.
  • Can Be Done The philosophy of Can Be Done is that those less agile or with disabilities should have the same facilities available to them as those who are able-bodied, if at all possible.
